Mentors

Monga Mukasa is the Founder of Networking African-Australians and a community leader. Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo,  Monga and his family migrated to Australia in 2005, where they now call Australia home. Professionally, Monga worked for The Victorian Department of Education & Training providing support to a diverse school community, especially the African communities and other multicultural students, including parents. As a founder of Networking African-Australians, Monga strongly felt that now it is the time for like-minded African-Australian professionals to mentor and support our young people so that they can flourish and become great citizens within Australian society.

Monga has worked on different youths driven projects in both public and private organizations such as La Trobe University,  Fugee School in Malaysia, UNICEF Australia, Notre Dame College, Trinity Catholic School and The Involved Committee under the Victorian Government Ministry for Youth Affairs. Monga has also represented Australia as well as the Australian young people at multiple youth summits and leadership forums in countries such as The United States of America, The Philippines, Japan, Russia, Canada, Belgium, Sri Lanka and India. Monga holds a Bachelor of Politics and International Relations degree from the University of Canberra and he also holds a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English (TESOL) from Deakin University in Melbourne, and he is currently undertaking a Master of Social Worker (Child and Family Practice) at La Trobe University in Melbourne. Apart from his professional life, Monga is an accomplished singer/songwriter and also enjoys playing sports and meeting new people.
