Youth Parliament
The Victorian Youth Parliament is a prestigious program that brings together 16 to 25-year-olds from across the state to research and draft bills on issues they are passionate about before debating them to mimic actual parliament. Those bills are then passed onto the Youth Minister to consider. Most importantly, the Youth Parliament empowers young people from diverse backgrounds to stand up and be heard in Parliament chambers.
In the program’s 36-year history in the year 2022, we saw a first ever team of African-Australian students participating in the program bringing greater representation of African Australian excellence in society.
